Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, and analyze health‑care utilization and cost data for United Health Group’s Virginia market.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using SQL, Tableau, and Power BI to support senior leadership decision‑making.
  • Identify trends, outliers, and opportunities for cost‑containment and quality improvement.
  • Collaborate with clinical, finance, and operations teams to translate data insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Prepare and present findings to internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements in all data handling processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Business Analytics, Public Health, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in health‑care data analysis or a similar analytical role.
  • Proficiency with SQL, Excel (advanced functions), and data‑visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar).
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex data to non‑technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement models (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, commercial) is a plus.
