Responsibilities

• Investigate, assess, and settle property and casualty insurance claims in accordance with company policies and state regulations.
• Conduct on‑site inspections, interview claimants and witnesses, and gather relevant documentation.
• Prepare detailed claim reports, estimate loss values, and recommend appropriate settlement amounts.
• Collaborate with underwriters, legal counsel, and external vendors (e.g., adjusters, appraisers) to resolve complex claims.
• Maintain accurate records in the claims management system and meet all service level agreements.
• Provide exceptional customer service, answering claimant inquiries promptly and professionally.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in property and casualty claims adjusting.
• Virginia insurance adjusting license (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with claims software (e.g., Xactimate, Guidewire) and Microsoft Office Suite.
