Responsibilities

  • Review, evaluate, and process life insurance claims in accordance with company policies and state regulations.
  • Conduct investigations, gather documentation, and interview claimants or beneficiaries as needed.
  • Communicate claim decisions clearly and compassionately to policyholders and their families.
  • Maintain accurate claim files and update the claims management system daily.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, legal, and finance teams to resolve complex claim issues.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to continuous‑quality initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in life insurance claims handling or a related insurance role.
  • Valid Illinois Life & Health Insurance Adjuster license (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).
  • Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with claims management software (e.g., Guidewire, Duck Creek) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
